You might have a rug as a bathroom accessory. You use a bathroom rug to absorb water and to help prevent slips and falls. That type of rug usually is made of natural materials. The safety factor makes a kids bath rug popular. Some adults upgrade their own bathroom by adding a luxury bath rug.

A kitchen rug is another useful rug. It protects your floors and prevents falls.

A bathroom rug or kitchen rug usually has a non-slip backing. Most backings are made of rubber or a very rough fabric.

You also can use rugs as decorations or accents in your home. The rugs make your room look better. A large area rug can enhance a dining area or living area.

An antique Persian rug or silk Persian rug can transform a casual room or area to a formal one. Sometimes such rugs are used as wall decorations.

More people prefer a modern rug, especially a modern area rug.

Of course you do not have to buy something expensive. A discount area rug can be a fine addition to your home at a very cheap price.
